About Me	a lot... Graduated Madison with a theater degree in lighting design. Worked with the Opera Co. of Boston and Alvin Ailey City Center Dance Theater. Then went back to school to finish per-med. Moved to CO to attend Child Health Associate program (pediatric Physicial Assistant). Moved to Oregon early in 1980 to finish my internship and decided that was the place for me. In 1983 decided I wanted to make wine in Oregon and spent 5 years figuring out how, including working with a year with an early poneer, Fred Arterberry (deceased 1990). Started St. Innocent Winery in 1988 as president and winemaker and continue in that role. Also made wine for Panther Creek Cellars for the years 1994-1999. Stopped practicing medicine in 1998. St. Innocent bought an interest in Zenith Vineyard in 2006 and built a new winery there in 2007. Sold that asset in 2017 and in January 2018 bought 47.55 acres in the South Salem Hills adjacent to Interstate 5. Just finishing a new winery building with 15.5 acres of new grapes and 4.5 acres of French apple varieties. We decreased production to 6000 cases in my 31st vintage (need to slow down), and now own everything (no partners anymore). Still making Pinot noir from 4 of Oregon's greatest vineyards : Shea, Momtazi, Freedom Hill and Temperance Hill along with Pinot blanc and sparkling wine.
