About	Russell Leroy Martin, 80, of Apollo, Kiski Township, went to be with his Lord Saturday, June 21, 2008. He was born May 1, 1928, in Kiski Township, son of the late Norman R. and Ruby Heckman Martin. Leroy attended Anderson University in Anderson, Ind. He taught in the Apollo Ridge School District for 31 years before his retirement in 1989. He attended North Apollo First Church of God, where he served on the church board and taught Sunday school. He was a member of Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees and Armstrong County Branch of the Pennsylvania Retired Teacher's Association. He will always be remembered for his love of horses, traveling, music, playing his organ and the many lives he touched during his teaching career. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Shotts, Esther Heasley and an infant sister, Dorothy Martin. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Bonnie Ann Bouch Stivason Martin; two daughters, Sally Buchanan and her husband, Brian, of West Lebanon, and Virginia Sowers and her husband, Gene, of Kiski Township; two sons, Victor Stivason and his wife, Marge, of Cowansville, and Tom Stivason and his wife, Robin, of Adrian; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at KELLY L. CORRIDONI FUNERAL HOME LTD., 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo. An additional hour of visitation will be held from noon until the time of services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Church of God, North Apollo, with Pastor Robert Shallenberger officiating. Private interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Spring Church.
