Services celebrating the life of Kevin Schafer, age 54 of St Cloud, will be 7:00 PM, Wednesday, August 31, at Salem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. Burial will be Thursday in North Star Cemetery. There will be a visitation after 6:00 PM Wednesday at the church. Kevin died Saturday at the St. Cloud Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Arrangements are being made by the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Kevin was born May 12, 1957 in Waterville, WA to Dean and Colleen (Anderson) Schafer. The family moved to St. Cloud when Kevin was a teenager and he has lived in St. Cloud his entire adult life. He graduated from Apollo High School and St. Cloud State University. Kevin owned and operated the "Dugout" in Sartell. He was a sports fan and he loved to play baseball, softball and especially golf. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud.
Kevin is survived by his three sons, Andrew Schafer, Daniel Schafer and Joseph Schafer, all of St. Cloud. His is also survived by his mother, Colleen Schafer of St. Cloud and his brothers, Brian (Kathy) Schafer, Minocqua, WI and Rodney (Joy) Schafer, Cold Spring.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dean Schafer in 1986.
