About | “Christopher James Hagen, passed on 14 March 2025. He is survived by brother Mike (with wife Meriam) and sister Jane (both from Forth Worth, TX); niece Reema (with husband Bill), great-niece Finley (also in the arts) and great-nephew Brixton (Orlando, FL); and nephew Nicolas (with wife Elise and great-niece Mina). Although born in Hutchinson MN on 29 January 1945, he was raised in Anoka, graduated from Anoka High School with class of 1963, and then earned a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University, Evanston IL. Following a few years in New York City, he moved to Sarasota, Florida, where he immersed himself in years of theater work, radio advertising sales, and on-air hosting. Making his way from Minnesota to Texas via Tampa and Dallas, he discovered his skill for radio advertising sales and commercial productions. His fervent, though sometimes disheartened, devotion to the Dallas Cowboys began here. He stubbornly stuck with the ‘Boys' even as he made a final move to the 'higher' life in Santa Fe. There, he continued with radio/newspaper sales at Albuquerque Publishing, PrimeTime Publishing, and Moon Dog Publishing as an advertising executive and, now and again, appearing on the 'big screen': as the 'preacher' in The Lone Ranger, George Stark in A Million Ways To Die In The West, and many more. He even appeared in a few T.V. shows. As a hobby, ’Chef’ Chris was also known locally for his tasty talents with soups and Gumbos, and frequent offers of personal delivery. He loved the theater, acting, and all those with whom he worked and met along the way. Christopher cherished his friends and welcomed them into his heart. ..... they ALL were what kept him in The Land of Enchantment. Fare thee well, brother.” |
Events | We plan on a small, informal memorial graveside service for Chris at the Anoka Forest Hills Cemetery sometime hopefully later this Summer or early Full (2025). Am planning to post the date and time for the ceremony as soon as determined. |
