Tawnda May Connell, 77, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Connell was born in Jacksonville, Florida.She was a graduate of Andrew Jackson Sr. High School and dedicated more than 58 years to childcare, most recently serving with Oceanway Church. Her life’s work reflected her love for children, families, and her community.
Mrs. Connell enjoyed playing trivia, trying new restaurants, attending festivals, watching movies and reading books. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Oceanway Church. Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her life.
Mrs. Connell was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Peter Camp and Edith May Camp, sister Gloria Camp and brother John Camp.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Danny Connell, Sr.; 3 sons, Danny Connell, Jr., Davy Connell (Kelly), and Donny Connell (Amy); Grandchildren; Rusty Connell, Devin Connell, Doug Connell (Haley), Dallas Connell, Desi Meek (Sam), Delaney Crews (Landon). Great-grandchildren; Demi Connell, SJ Meek, and a great grandchild on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Oceanway Church, 12240 Sago Avenue West, on Saturday May 23rd.

I am so sorry to hear this. I remember her from school and the ball field when our grandkids played ball. I would run into her at restaurants. Prayers for the family.
