About | Cremated: Janet Sue Howard (Wilkinson), departed this world peacefully in her sleep on May 4, 2023 in Post Falls Idaho. She was born November 3, 1949 in Jacksonville Florida to Edwin Wilkinson and Frances Vivian McQuiddy. She lived the majority of her life in Jacksonville where she was married to Charles Thomas Amato and had three children Ronald, Rebecca and James. Later she remarried to Irvin Dewayne Howard who also adopted the children. She spent her adult life working in the Dental Industry, first as a dental assistant and later as an office manager until retirement. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ (LDS) in 1972 and served in many positions in the church including, Relief Society President, Sunday School teacher, Seminary teacher, and others. She also served as a Den mother in Cub Scouts, a Cub Master, and a District Scout Leader. Her passion was Genealogy and would spend hours combing through cemeteries and records researching her past and the past of others. Anytime she passed a cemetery on her travels, she would stop and photograph the tombstones for her records. She had traced several lines of her family back into the 500’s and most lines back to the 1300’s. She organized the first Genealogical convention in Jacksonville Florida, which still continues annually to this day. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Wilkinson and Frances Vivian McQuiddy, four of her brothers, Eddie, Don, Bill and Tommy. Her husband, Dewayne Howard and her ex husband Thomas Amato. She is survived by her brother Garrett Wilkinson and her sister-in-law Diana Wilkinson. Her children James D Howard, Rebecca A Howard and Ronald A Howard. Eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, 1824 East 16th Avenue POST FALLS, Idaho. |
