Funeral Services Held Saturday For Pfc. Waldron
Funeral services for Pfc. Jerry Monroe Waldron, 20, of 625 Izler St , Waycross, who died May 19, in Vietnam from injuries received while serving with the 5th Cavalry, U.S. Army, were held Saturday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at the Ben James Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Tommy Jordan, Elder Estell Grayson and Rev. Dennis Carter officiating.
Interment was in the church cemetery with full military rites at the graveside.
A native of Pierce County, he had lived in Jacksonville, Fla., a number of years where he attended Andrew Jackson High School. Upon returning to Waycross, he had engaged in the floor covering business before entering the Army. He had served in Vietnam two months.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Dianne Joyner Waldron of Waycross; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Waldron of Jacksonville; two sisters, Mrs. William T. Spires, Jr. of Waycross and Miss Lillie Mae Waldron of Jacksonville; a brother, John L. Waldron of Jacksonville; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Ethel Howard of Blackshear. There are several aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Clough-Pearson Funeral Home of Blackshear was in charge of arrangements.
