Mr. Roman was born Sept. 6, 1949 in Jacksonville, Fla., son of the late Robert Marion and Essie M. Durrance Roman. He was a coal miner and a U.S. Navy veteran. Surviving are his wife, Janie C. Blair Roman of Paintsville; one daughter, Julie (John) Childers of Williamsport, Ky. Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.
