Marion R. " Skipper" McClure III, 52, passed away after a brief illness Tuesday, November 6th. Skip was born in Savannah, Georgia but moved to Jacksonville as a child and had lived here since. After graduation from Andrew Jackson High School, he served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam (Pleiku). After the war, he joined the Merchant Marine. Later he worked in several trades before joining the Trammel Crow Co., the Maintenance Contractor for Bank of America in Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his father, Marion R. McClure, Jr., in 1983. Survivors include his loving mother, Frieda McClure, brother, Mike McClure (Cindy), sister, Donna Hardenbrook (Stewart), nephew, David McClure, niece, Rachael McClure, and his two schnauzers, Mac & Gretchen, who were like his children. Pastor John E. Hugus will lead a Memorial service at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 10th in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4315 Main St.
