About Cremated
Mr. Edgar Morris McClelion, 65, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 after valiantly fighting illness for 14 years. Born March 14, 1949, Morris was a long time resident of Jacksonville’s Northside neighborhood, Hollyford. Morris had a strong affinity for the water, which dates back to the years he worked on tugboats up and down the St. Johns River with his father-in-law. He retired last year from Owens Corning Fiberglass, a job that he loved, after nearly 30 years of loyal service. Always friendly and outgoing, Morris would routinely end up in long, whimsical conversations with people he met. He was never afraid to poke fun at his physical limitations. When young children who, after observing his eye patch and limp, would ask if he was a pirate, Morris would indulge them with a hearty “Argghhhhh!” Morris loved to tinker with old tools and would spend hours in his shed or working on a project around the house. His commitment and dedication to his family remained strong until the end. His greatest pride was his bride of 45 years, Bonita, his 4 children, and their families.

Morris is preceded in death by his parents, Lily Verdell and Franklin Homes McClelion. He is survived by his wife, Bonita, three sons, Eddie, Matthew (Dawn), and William (Lea), daughter Diane, and grandsons Steven Lane Kincade (Jasmine), Allen Kincade, Zack McClelion, and sister Ithenia Rowe (Ron).

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014, 3pm at Hollyford Baptist Church, located at 150 Ford Avenue Jacksonville, FL 32218.
