About Buried in the Summerville Cemetery & Mausoleum Summerville, SC.
Charlies courageous battle with cancer ended July 5, 2011. He stayed CRUMPLER STRONG throughout his illness and was an inspiration to all of us. Charlie was born April 6, 1949, in Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1967, and served in the Florida Army National Guard Aviation Unit and the South Carolina Air National Guard for 10 years. In 2005, he retired from Texaco Refinery and Marketing, Inc. after 36 years of service. Since retiring, he had many great adventures, traveling from Florida to Maine to Alaska to Texas. He loved camping, fishing, boating, taking cruises, and most of all sharing his adventures with his family. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Eva Crumpler; by his wife of 33 years (and mother of their children), Joanie McCann Crumpler, and by their infant daughter, Tracy Joan. He is survived by his wife of six years, Marilyn McKay Crumpler, his children Marcy, Charles, Jr. (Tammy), and Tina (David); his step-children Lori, Michael, Jr. (Christy), and Trent (Danielle); his grandchildren Danielle, Hallie, Miranda, Nicholas, Brice, Melina, Darren, Mason, Brandan and Camden; and his siblings Roy, Frank, and Jean, and many other dear relatives and friends. There simply are not enough words to describe Charlies many abilities and talents, his generosity and compassion, and his love for his family and friends. In spite of all his greatness, he was a very humble man who saw no greatness in himself, but gave of his time and talents without hesitation.
