About Me | I LOVE ANN-MARGRET ! I was born on September 9, 1956, in Ukiah, California. I grew up in Boonville, California (Mendocino County), attending schools there from kindergarten through my senior year. Jim Jones, of the Guyana, Jonestown mass-murder suicide event was my 6th grade teacher. I graduated Anderson Valley High on June 5, 1974 as Senior Class President. I attended Shasta College in Redding, California from September 1974 to January 1976, where I graduated with honors in (3) semesters. I lived in Montecito, a suburb of Santa Barbara, California in 1977 & 1978 while attending UC Santa Barbara and working for Bank of America. I then moved to Ukiah, California where I worked for First American Title, Westamerica Bank and for Mendo Lake Credit Union. On September 8, 1992, I moved to Sacramento, California, where I worked as a Manager in the Customer Service Response Center for HomEq Servicing, a subsidiary of Barclay's Capitol from June 19, 1995 through October 28, 2010. I met my partner, Markcurtis Otani, on June 5, 1996 - he retired in May of 2009 from the state of California's Justice Department, where he worked as Forensic Specialist, identifying missing persons via finger prints & dental records. We live in the North Natomas suburb of Sacramento with our (2) redheaded Dachshunds, sisters & liter mates Lucy & Reba ( named after... well, you know who ), born on December 25, 2003. Our latest addition, Molly, was born on September 7, 2011 - she is a miniature Dachshund, brindle in color and now rules everyone. I have followed the career of actress-entertainer Ann-Margret since the age of (7) when in 1964 I saw her in the film "Viva Las Vegas" with Elvis Presley. I have been fortunate enough to see her perform in concert more than 100 times, from Lake Tahoe & Reno, to San Francisco & Las Vegas, from Cincinnati, Ohio to the front row of Radio City Music Hall in New York City. I have a very large collection of career memorabilia on her, from recorded albums, to CD's, videos, and DVD's, including her television specials & guest appearances on talk shows through the years. I have many rare items, including a record album she made while still in high school (used for the opening of her biography series on A&E), to her high school yearbook, her college yearbook, scripts from her TV specials, costumes from her film work, A-M on a box of Wheaties cereal to an Ann-Margret themed working telephone. A true highlight for us was when she and her husband Roger Smith invited my partner, Markcurtis Otani, and myself to their home in Beverly Hills for a visit on October ...(read more) |
