Recently, Jay Roland, Phyllis Naldrett Maddix, Diane Strauch Acker and I joined together to begin exploring the viability and options of setting up a 50 year class reunion in 2016. We’re in the data gathering stage right now, but basically what we are thinking is putting together a couple of days where people could meet and renew old acquaintances. This would take the form of going to an ABHS football game on Friday, September 30, and then having some form of get together (afternoon luncheon or a dinner) on Saturday, October 1.
Right now we’re starting the process of getting our arms around how many classmates and spouses might attend. Our current step, the creation an “ABHS Class of 1966 Reunion Page” on Facebook, will help us begin to determine how many classmates we can get a hold of, and how many would be interested. Our goal is to maximize fun and minimize cost.
We have contacted St. Mary's Class of 1966 to see if there is an interest to join in with us. Our next step, as mentioned, is to begin to determine approximate attendance numbers. Only when we get those numbers can we start to get serious about determining what the best venue would be to hold a get together.
So please join our reunion page so we can give you updates on how we’re proceeding, and by all means let us know if you have an interest in attending.

Important Information!
We are moving on to the next step in our planning of the Class of 1966 50th Class Reunion. Diane and I have booked a location for our get-together on Saturday, Oct. 1st. We will meet up at noon at Total Sports. It is located at 40501 Production Drive, Harrison Twp. MI 48045. It is located at I-94@North River Rd. (Mt. Clemens Exit #237 off I-94). The website is: totalsportseast.com. We will have a private room until 5:00p.m.
The cost will be $25 p.p. which will include a buffet lunch/dinner served around 1:30p.m. It also includes unlimited soft drinks and coffee. A cash bar is located right next to our room. Anyone who would like to stay and continue the party into the evening, after 5:00p.m., will be welcome to move into the bar area or outdoor patio, weather permitting. They have typical bar food available for purchase and a DJ starting at 9:00p.m.
Our schedule will be as follows: On Friday afternoon those that wish can meet up at a restaurant to be named later for a pre-game get-together/meal, probably around 4:00-4:30. Any expenses here are each person’s responsibility. The game begins at 7:00, but it would be best to arrive by 6:30. The school address is Anchor Bay High School, 6319 County Line Rd., Fair Haven, MI 48023. Admission to the game is free. After the game, if anyone wants to visit longer can make their own plans. Of course attending the game is optional.
Saturday we will meet at noon at Total Sports. After 5:00 you may stay on there or move on to another location of your choice.
Except for personal expenses our cost is $25 p.p. We would greatly appreciate it you could get your money to us as soon as possible. A check can be made to Diane Acker. If you have changed your name in any way since graduation, please include your name at graduation on your check! All monies will be due by Sept. 15th. There will be no paying at the door.
We know many are undecided whether to attend or not. We would love to have you come! You only have one opportunity to celebrate a 50 year class reunion, so please join us!
