About	PROVIDED BY GOETTSCH FUNERAL HOME "Derek Elliott age, 20 of Anamosa was found in his home Wednesday Morning August 20, 2008. There will be a private Graveside service at a later date. Visitation will be Friday August 22, 2008 from 4 to 8 at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Thoughts, memories and condolences may be left at www.goettschonline.com. Surviving Derek are his parents Darin Elliott and Penny (Eric) Lode; A brother Levi; Grandparents Richard and Carol Elliott of Ogden, Utah, Kenneth Humpal and Kare and Lorain Lode of Anamosa. He was preceded in death by a grandmother Dorothy Humpal. Derek Dale Elliott was born November 22, 1987 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was the son of Darin Elliott and Penny Lode. Derek graduated from the Anamosa High School. He was currently enrolled at the University of Iowa, Majoring in computer science. Derek was interested in Astronomy and science. Derek had many friends and enjoyed having a fun time. Derek loved cars, especially fast cars and corvettes. He enjoyed music and played bass guitar with his band mates. Derek was everyones friend and was always there to put a smile on your face. Derek was a great big brother. He loved to watch movies and play video games. Derek always had a friendly Hey hows it going for everyone he met. He had a big heart. Derek left us too soon and will be missed more than he will ever know."
