Dave and I were best friends from 8th grade at Amphi Junior High until his passing in 2016. We built a lot of cool things together.
Dave and I built a '23 T roadster. It had an original frame, fiberglass body and Turtle deck. 427 Tunnel Port engine, 4 speed tranny. A Detroit Locker Ford 9". We started building this in our Junior year at Amphi. Ten years and a lot of love and work later, the hot rod was ALIVE.
I stay in touch with his wife, Jan. They had 4 kids.
Dave was an architect and General contractor. Project manager on several buildings and resorts.(The State Farm buildings on Tempe Town Lake was one of his projects)
A few weeks before his death we met for dinner in Scottsdale. Dave gave me some advice to get a trust put together because you never know what is going to happen. Three weeks later I got a call from Dave's son, Taz, telling me through tears that his dad had passed away.
I miss Dave a lot. And I did get a trust put together shortly thereafter!
