Larry W. Bowers
Class of 1967
Navy, 4 Years
I joined the Navy one year after graduating. I went to boot camp in San Diego and did my training as a Radioman there as well. Once I completed my training I wen to Hawaii for two years at NAVCOMMSTA Honolulu in Wahiawa, Hawaii. My last year in the Navy in Sept. 1971 I was assigned to a ship out of Pearl Harbor and went to the West Pacific where I went to Guam, Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Vietnam. We were anchored in Da Nang harbor off and on for 6 months. We finally made our way back to Pearl Harbor in March of 1972. I eventually met my future wife at the Hickham AFB exchange. I got out of the Navy in Aug. of 1972 and moved to Maryland and eventually married that beautiful girl I met in the exchange.
