Josephine Lombardo Spagnola
Class of 1939
Josephine marked her 100th birthday in February with several celebrations including family,friends,voice students and neighbors.She sang two selections at the main event,accompanied on piano by her daughter Toni.A dvd of her life "JOSEPHINE....A Century of Love and Music" was created ,and a link to view it will be provided soon.Josephine arrived in the United States in 1929 and her family settled in Juniata Gap.She began her professional career in New York City after attending Juilliard,and then followed in Los Angeles.Her professional career spanned opera,musical theatre,film and television work. She continued, becoming General Manager and Artistic Director for The West Coast Opera Theatre,for which she sang and produced many productions.She is still actively teaching voice.
