Kathleen Ann (Cook) Werda, age 58, formerly of Alpena, Mich., died at her home in Spring, Texas, on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015. She was born to Rosalie Tadajewski and to the late Leslie Cook in Alpena, Mich., on Aug. 8, 1956. A graduate of Alpena High School in 1974, Kathy later went to get a degree in medical transcription. She married Gabriel Werda on Sept. 20, 1975, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Alpena by the Rev. Terry Raymond.
Surviving are her husband, Gabriel; her children, Lauren (and Peter) Muzyka, Ryan and Kevin all of Texas; siblings, Nadine (and Larry) Fortier of Gaylord, Mich., and Joseph (and Zoila) Cook of California; her mother, Rosalie Newhouse; and her best friend, Beverly Staton.
Kathy (or “Mom”) was the sunshine of our lives, a loving wife, mother, daughter and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.
