About	Captain of Allegany football team 1942. Wayne held the city touchdown record until Jim Gaffney broke it in the early 1960s. He went on to play football for Albright College in Reading, PA, from there he answered the call to duty and joined the USN where he received basic training in Great Lakes before being selected for pilot training at Auburn University. After graduating from Naval Air Cadet School, Wayne flew a PBM-Mariner in WWII and The Korean War. My dad had a long and successful career with The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P) as a meatcutter, labor leader and advocate. He passed from this earth in the Spring of 2001 from complications stemming from Alzheimers Desease. He was legendary if only in his own home..... I miss you every day Pop!
