About | Russell Bruce Cole, 56 HOLDEN - Russell Bruce Cole died suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, August 10, 2012. He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Elizabeth "DeeDee" (Hillard) Cole; his son, Randall Lawson Cole; his mother, Georgiana Cole; his sisters, Deborah Cole and Virginia Boland and brother-in-law, Thomas Boland. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, his mother-in-law, Terry Hill, and many friends. Russell was a competitive waterskier who traveled the country every summer with his son to compete at the national level. He competed in the 2012 Eastern Regional championships nearly tying his personal best, and besting his training partners. Waterskiing provided the Cole family with countless hours of enjoyment, and togetherness. Russell was employed for many years by Cole Contracting Company where he worked with his uncle James Cole and his cousin David Cole. He grew up in Northboro and graduated from Algonquin Regional High School where he was a captain of the football team and also a track athlete and a wrestler. He spent the summers of his youth at Ayers Lake in Barrington, New Hampshire where he developed his passion for waterskiing. He was also an avid downhill skier, a sport that he enjoyed with his family every season at Mount Wachusett in Princeton. There will be a celebration of Russ' life at 130 North St. Holden, MA on August 25, 2012 from 1-3 p.m. Flowers are to be omitted. |
