About Me Favorite quote "Fortunately, disappointments have little to do with circumstance and everything to do with perspective." About me .... Good heart, wanting to share the day-to-day journeys together w/ someone likewise, wanting to grow individually and together, seeking a piece of heaven here and now, I know what I want in life, a bit romantic, artistic undercurrent, searching for a muse, looking for a LTR that may lead to the ultimate conspiracy (in the pure etymological sense .... if this speaks to you, we definitely need to touch base!! :).... enjoy laughter, thoughtful and silly conversations, I like to travel, always seeking your spark in the dark...ME! First Date First meet ..... a comfortable spot to talk ... could be at a tea bar, walk outdoors, coffee shop, art gallery, etc. Where I Have & Have Not Been I have been in many places, but I've never been in Cahoots. Apparently, you can't go alone. You have to be in Cahoots with someone. I've also never been in Cognito. I hear no one recognizes you there. I have, however, been in Sane. They don't have an airport; you have to be driven there. I have made several trips there, thanks to my friends, family and work. I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump, and I'm not too much on physical activity anymore, I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go, and I try not to visit there too often. I've been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm. Sometimes I'm in Capable, and I go there more often as I'm getting older. One of my favorite places to be is in Suspense! It really gets the adrenalin flowing and pumps up the old heart! At my age I need all the stimuli I can get! I may have been in Continent, and I don't remember what country I was in. It's an age thing. Assistant Day Manager/Operator/EMT/Driver/Director of Maintainence at Anderson/Lifecare Ambulance 1973-1999. Member of Ch'ville/Alb Co.Chamber of Commerce since 1987... Operator/Leadman Central Va Vault Co 1978-present "Oh you're a funeral director? what do you make?" What do I make? I make your child presentable after they get killed in a car accident or your mom finally look healthy and at peace after she fights disease for years as a shell of herself. I make suggestions, decisions, and speak on your behalf when you're so overcome with grief that you cant even remember your name. I make my family wait to open Christmas presents or eat Thanksgiving dinner because I'm at work helping you. I make every minute of my work a formal occasion by the way I dress, speak, and act--and I do that out of respect for you. Thats what I make. .Fav Quotes...Any day above ground should be a better day than the alternative? ... Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. - Mark Twain "Getters generally don't get happiness. Givers get it. You simply give to others a bit of yourself, a thoughtful act, a helpful idea, a word of appreciation, a lift over a rough spot, a sense of understanding, a timely suggestion. You take something out of your mind, garnish it in kindness out of your heart, and put it into the other person's mind and heart." ~~Charles Burr "Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens." ~~ Carl Jung "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired and success achieved. Silver is purified in fire and so are we. It is in the most trying times that our real character is shaped and revealed." ~~Helen Keller "If you ever want something you have never had, you have got to do something you have NEVER done." ~~ Mark Murdock "When we choose not to focus on what's missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present... we experience heaven on earth." ~~ Sarah Breathnach "Everything that's really worthwhile in life comes to us free - our minds, our souls, our bodies, our hopes, our dreams, our intelligence, our love of family and friends and country. All of these priceless possessions are free." ~~Earl Nightingale “If you are going to do something, then you need to do it under UNFAVORABLE conditions! You can’t wait ‘til conditions are right…then they will never be right.” ~~ Lance Watson *** Always stand up for what's in your heart... don't be so silly as to cut off your nose to spite your face. Sometimes things are right in front of you. Be sure you recognize them......BE PRESENT FOR PETES SAKE!!! I believe in giving credit where credit is due. There is so much negativity everywhere we go nowadays. If everyone decided, just once a day, to throw some positive aura around to others, well, we might just change the way things are... 1 day at a time, 1 person at a time. "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore.Dream. Discover" -- MARK TWAIN MY Favorite Quotations "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way"--Jessica Rabbit Westley: Hear this now, I will always come for you Buttercup: How can you be sure? Westley: This is true love. You think this happens everyday? --The Princess Bride Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock ... Scissors cuts Paper Paper covers Rock Rocks crushes Lizard Lizard poisons Spock Spock smashes Scissors Scissors decapitate Lizard Lizard eats Paper Paper disproves Spock Spock vaporizes Rock Rock crushes Scissors Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day. Do it!, I say. Whatever you want to do, do it now. There are only so many tomorrows. (Michael Landon) "At the end of the day, when it comes down to it, all we really want is to be close to somebody. So this thing where we all keep our distance and pretend not to care about each other, it's usually a load of bull. So we pick and choose who we want to remain close to, and once we've chosen those people, we tend to stick close by. No matter how much we hurt them. The people that are still with you at the end of the day, those are the ones worth keeping. And sure, sometimes close can be too close. But sometimes, that invasion of personal space, it can be exactly what you need." - Meredith on Grey's "Contrary to what many women believe, it's fairly easy to develop a long-term, stable, intimate and mutually fulfilling relationship with a guy. Of course this guy has to be a Labrador retriever." --Dave Barry Les jeux sont faits. Translation: the game is up. Your ass is mine.-- Ferris Beuller's Day Off You're not a freak, OK? Don't believe anybody that tries to convince you of that. That's bullshit. You don't have to go through your life believing that. --The Sixth Sense -- I don't think we would have the "friends" option on our profiles if it wasn't warranted. So why under the "intent" tab on our profiles, isn't there, "Meet new people and make friends." That's my intent here. A friend on here introduced me to this...cool!
