Carl Peterson

Air Force, 10 Years
Graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1955, received commission in US Air Force. Graduated from jet pilot training at Laredo Air Force Base in 1956. Flew operationally for 4years, then was sent to M.I.T. for two years, graduated with MS in Aeronautics. Was sent to NASA Johnson Space Center and worked on the Apollo project. Joined NASA as a civilian employee in 1965, and worked in the Space Shuttle Project Office. Was program manager for the development of the 747 Carrier program which carried the orbiter back to KSC when it landed in other locations. After retiring in 1980, was Marketing Director For TRW Space Systems in Houston until 2000. Have enjoyed full retirement since then.

Our Aitkin High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Aitkin High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated.
