Can you believe it’s been 50 years! Of course, we were only 7 when we graduated from AAHS in 1973, right.
Well, never-the-less, a few of us decided we couldn’t let this milestone go by uncelebrated. Our last reunion
was at 35 years, in 2008, and we decided we were due for another.
We’ve tried our best to find as many classmates as we can, but if you are in touch with any please feel free to
forward this on. The more the merrier. We think we’ve planned a fun weekend that will make the trip
worthwhile for those of you traveling from afar. You will need to RSVP so we can plan food accordingly.
The Highlights:
• July 21-23, 2023
• Friday 2:00 – Tour of Air Academy High School (barring any lockdown of the AF Academy) (free)
• Friday 4:00 – Catered BBQ, Games, & Music at Maguireville (other AAHS grads welcome) ($25/person)
18110 Knollwood Blvd., Monument, CO 80132 (come at 4:00 for beverages, food will arrive at 6:00)
• Saturday 11:00 – Hike at Ute Valley Trail Head, make a left on Ute Valley Trail off South Rockrimmon
Blvd. just west of the Tech Center Marriott (Bring water, sunscreen, a hat, and a lunch – approx. 2
hours) (free)
• Saturday 6:00 – Dinner/Dancing at Patty Jewett Golf Course (Class of ’73 & spouses only) ($60/person)

• Sunday 12:00 – Mingle at Red Leg Brewing Company (Food trucks available) (anybody welcome) (free)

Friday night there is no entertainment planned, but we would love it if some talented classmates would
provide some impromptu music. So, don’t forget to pack your guitar, ukulele, harmonica, or whatever.
We will have Goodie Bags for all graduates in attendance at the Saturday night event and we are hoping you
can help us out. The idea is, for those that want to, to donate a small item for each bag. Problem is we won’t
know how many we need until people RSVP. But if you’ll let us know what you might donate we’ll be in touch
when we get the count. We are anticipating 50-100? Examples of what we’re looking for: 1) Someone makes
homemade toffee and caramels and will donate small sample bags 2) Do you make home brew and could
donate a bottle for each bag? 3) Homemade jam? 4) Are you an artist that could design a card and provide 50-
100 copies? 5) Do you make some other small craft that you would like to contribute? 6) Does your company
or business have some useful item that you can get 50-100 of?
Also, we are planning to raffle off some larger items. Someone is making a lap quilt and Sandy Giltner is
offering a 2 night stay at her home in Taos, NM. We could use some art pieces (painting, sculpture, etc.)
Maybe you want to purchase a gift certificate to a restaurant and donate that? The possibilities are endless.
Everybody will get some raffle tickets just for showing up and we are considering selling additional tickets to
support a charity.
The Reunion Committee is very excited about this event, and we hope you are too! Some of us haven’t seen
each other since the last reunion, or possibly since graduation. We think it will be a fun weekend, with a little
something for everybody, and we hope you’ll attend as many events as possible.
We were unable to reserve rooms at a discounted rate due to an international golf tournament in town that
week, so we suggest you book your rooms asap. (This is also why we are not able to offer a golfing event.)
