About Me	Greg Gibson and I started to date halfway through my senior year. Although we were the same age, he was a year behind me. We had actually met back in Gr. 5 when his family moved from Lakefield to Peterborough. We dated for 21/2 yrs., then went our separate ways for half a decade. When Adam Scott had their 25 Year Anniversary-the Fall of 1985, (at the time I was living and working in Bramalea), I went and saw many old friends and classmates, but Greg and I did not cross paths. However, friends of mine who knew both Greg and I pretty well, asked if they could give Greg my address, I said sure. A few months later I got a letter from him. That was the start of us getting back together. We got engaged in Nov. of 1986, and married in Aug. of 1987. We had our first daughter in 1989 (she is married and now lives in Alberta). Then in 1992 we had our younger daughter, she continues to reside in Courtice where I live. Greg was an Arborist, (a Tree Trimmer), and was very good at what he did. Sadly though, in Nov. of 1999, he had a terrible accident while working for a very small, local tree company. The tree he was working on was full of dead wood and should have been a bucket truck job, but his boss rarely, if ever would include the trucks in jobs as that would up the cost of the bid on the jobs. Greg was alone up this tree (with no groundsman), when the branch gave way. Despite Greg being tied in appropriately, he fell 20-25 ft. to the ground. The fall caused him to go unconscious. After being airlifted to St. Michaels Hosp. in Toronto, he remained in a coma until he passed away 19 days later on Dec. 12, 1999. Greg was my Highschool sweetheart, the love of my life, a great husband, and an even better father. This Dec. will be the 22nd anniversary of his passing, but the girls (who were 10 & 7 at the time) and me it still feels like a short time ago because we miss him and love just a...(read more)
