Cody Mandell (class of 2012)

NFL cowboys punter, (2014-present)

What is Cody Mandell (class of 2012) known for?

Cody Mandell, born April 7, 1992 in Lafayette, Louisiana, is an accomplished American football punter mostly known for his stint with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). His formative football years were spent at Acadiana High School in Lafayette, Louisiana, eventually leading him to become part of the University of Alabama's Crimson Tide football team.

Mandell showcased remarkable growth during his four-year tenure at Alabama, with his punting average leaping from 39.2 yards as a freshman to a solid 47.1 yards by his final year. This progression played an instrumental part in the team's success, contributing to their victories at the BCS National Championship Games in 2012 and 2013.

Despite his prowess, Mandell went undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft. However, he was quickly picked up as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys. His time with the Cowboys was short-lived, and he was released later the same year. In 2015, the Green Bay Packers saw potential in Mandell and signed him, but he was released from the team later in the year. It wasn't until joining the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2016 that Mandell found a more stable role, where he still holds his position as their prominent punter.

More information about Cody Mandell's remarkable career can be found on his Alabama Crimson Tide bio.
