What is Alley Broussard (Class of 2003) known for?

Alley Broussard, born September 6, 1983 in Lafayette, Louisiana, is a former American college football player best known for his time as a running back for the Louisiana State University (LSU) Tigers and the Missouri Southern Lions. He was an outstanding player during his time at Acadiana High School in Scott, Louisiana, setting impressive records for his skill and agility on the field.

In his high school career, Broussard rushed for a staggering 2,252 yards and scored 25 touchdowns as a junior, followed by 1,910 yards and 27 touchdowns as a senior. His performances led Rivals.com to rate him as the fourth-best running back prospect in the nation for the class of 2003.

Broussard committed to play football for LSU, where he was part of the 2003 team that won the BCS National Championship. During a 2004 game against Ole Miss, Broussard rushed for an astounding 250 yards, setting the LSU single-game rushing record - a record that held until 2016. In the 2004 season, he finished with 142 carries for 867 yards and ten touchdowns. Unfortunately, Broussard suffered a knee injury during the fall practice of 2005 which kept him out for the entire season.

He later transferred to Missouri Southern State University in 2007 where he continued to showcase his football prowess. Broussard ended his career at LSU with 1,537 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns over three seasons, making him one of the notable alumni of both LSU and Acadiana High School.

Throughout his career, Broussard demonstrated impressive skill and left a lasting legacy for his contributions to American college football. His achievements prove why he's still celebrated today, both by his alma mater Acadiana High School and by American football fans in general.
