I love you mom... I fell in Love with you from the moment I seen you. You were my protector, my provider, my hero. We were always together. You taught me more than you will ever know. Everyday, I waited for you to come home and jump in your arms and for awhile the world stopped and it was just you and me. Finding out about my day, and seeing what surprises you had for me tucked in your lunch bucket. Weekend's were all about laying under your truck and I helped you tinker and do pretty much everything. For 24 years I kissed you goodnight every night before bed, I remember the first night away from you, I was lost, I picked up the phone and called you to say goodnight and could tell by your voice you were happy that I did, and at that moment I knew. How important it is for a dad to love his daughter because one day she will pick a man who will take care of her like you did. I did not get married along the way. Instead I allowed myself to be cocooned. Undoing all the independence you had taught me. I didn't ask for much along the way because love is all I needed from you dad. We were a perfect family, we were like the three amigos, and I learned that morals, beliefs and a strong family foundation were all that mattered. I remember how you would teach my Spanish, and always drilling me on my times table. I remember all the summer vacations in the grilling heat which I would absorb like a reptile, and the none stop laughter in the camper and you telling me enough now so you could sleep.
