| About Me | In continuing the fundamental courses at Davis: 5 years State sanctioned courses – Multiple Industrial Arts degrees from YVC; Represented central Washington district in Washington State trade contest, 1965; Traveling internship and training in construction management, large northwest company, while continuing study courses in design, business management and real estate sciences. Returning to Yakima, served as project site manager, for a local company, on large commercial projects throughout central WA. Started my design/build business in 1974, eventually designing high-end specialty homes. Along with my wife Dorothy, an artist and designer in her own right, we introduced “northwest traditional” home styles from the Seattle/Portland area to Yakima in the mid-eighties, pioneering the first “Dream Street” concept neighborhoods this side of the mountains. Besides the many single projects involved in, we designed and built The Farm Country Estates (N 76th Ave) and Ravensgate Estates (Scenic Dr.). We’ve been fortunate also to have spent some 20 years living in our neighborhoods, and being able to live and work within a 2 mile radius of our home in west Yakima over the last 35+ years, a testament to the acceptance of our work. I also appreciate that we were able to stay in Yakima and contribute back to the community that nurtured and educated us. Married Lois ‘64 (we were much too young); one great son. Married Dorothy ‘68. One granddaughter, 20; one grandson, 14; and one grandson 9 months!! And, nieces and nephews we helped raise who are like our very own kids, and so, many other “grandkids&rdqu...(read more) |
