James Micheal Ryan
December 14, 1944 - October 19, 2023
James Michael Ryan, age 78, passed away on October 19, 2023, at his home in Yakima, Washington. Jim was born in Wenatchee, Washington on December 14, 1944, and lived in Chelan, Washington before finally settling in Yakima.

He attended elementary, middle, and high schools in Yakima. Jim was active in sports all his life and played basketball, baseball, and football for Davis High School. He umpired later on and coached his son’s little league team. Jim was also in the Marine Corp Reserves based in Yakima.

Jim met his wife, Marilyn at YVC and they were married in 1969. They had two children, Jeff Ryan (Tammy) and Jill Ryan. Jim and Marilyn have five grandchildren, Justin (Nicole), Jocelyn (Joey), Jake (Peyton), Kyrra, Wyatt and 2 great grandchildren, Lilly and Ben. Jim is also survived by his brothers, Randy Ryan (Sue), Kelly Ryan (Heidy) and sister, Tamra Ryan-Sutton (Rich).

In their 54 years of marriage, Jim worked for the Coca Cola Company for 38 years managing the Pasco, Washington plant and in management at the Yakima plant. During that time, they became active in collecting old Coca Cola Advertising, some of which can be seen at the Yakima plant today. They made many friends all over the Northwest and beyond. His love for the hunt of antiques continued through his lifetime. Wherever they went people always knew they’d be together looking for old advertising.

At Jim’s request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your favorite charity. Jim will be greatly missed by all.

Jimmy and I were close friends since Franklin jr high. We had countless memories of various “activities” mostly innocent, some not so much! Jimmy always had a big smile on his face and an infectious laugh.
