Russ served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to 1990. After graduating from OSU in Jan '69 he attended Officer's Training School then spent a year in Pilot Training at Craig AFB, AL. He was then assigned to fly C-130s for most of his Air Force career with assignments to Dyess AFB, TX, CCK AB, Taiwan, Clark AB, Philippines, San Vito AS, Italy, Hurlburt Fld, FL, and Langley AFB, VA. Following his retirement, he became a MC-130 simulator instructor for 23 yrs, then flew twin engine, King Air planes in the U.S. and Afghanistan, with his final job flying air freight in a Caravan. Russ is currently retired and living in Albuquerque, NM.
