Navy, 20+ Years

Served in the US Navy from 1978 through 1998. Entered recruit training in Orlando, FL on 1 May 1978. Upon completion of recruit training continued on with basic electronics and electricity school in Florida. Upon completion of that went to Electricians Mate school in Great Lakes, Il. Attended Navys Nuclear Power school in Orlando, Fl (did not graduate, new I should have taken trig from coach Neely). Transfered to USS Simon Lake (AS-33), a balistic missle submarine tender. Was assigned to the chemistry lab attached to the quality assurance division of the repair departmen. I was attched there from January 1979 through January 1982. Attended the Navys advanced electrical school in Great Lakes,IL. Transfered to Mine Division 125 in Charleston, SC. Was an electrician on a 57 foot minesweeper. I was attached there for 3 1/2 years. Transferred to recruiting duty in Texas City, TX from June 1985 through December 1989. Transfered to USS Frank Cable (AS-40) a fast attack submarine tender. Once again in the quality assurance division. Broke my leg in June 1990 and spent 6 months on limited duty at the Naval Hospital Charleston. Transfered to Navy recruiting district Chicago in Jan 1991 through June 1994 when I transfered to Navy recruiting district Minneapolis, where I retired in June 1998.
