Enlisted May 1975; Served as Cryptologic Technician Interpretive (linguist) for Chinese Mandarin and Russian languages. Initiated as Chief Petty Officer in 1987. Commissioned as an Ensign (Cryptology) in 1988. Retired in Dec 2004 as a Lieutenant Commander. Deployed aboard 2 ships and 12 submarines. Stationed on Guam (3 years)and in Japan (9 years).
