Enlisted in December 1971, received a Reserve Commission through RIT Army ROTC class of '76. Served on active duty until 31 Dec 95. Accepted a Department of Army Civilian position at Ft McPherson, GA in 1998 and served in the offices of the US Army Forces Command for 15 years, retiring in March 2014.

Retired from the US Army as a Major after taking an "early" retirement after 18 yeara. After receiving my commission as a Distinquished military Graduate from Purdue University in 1977, I went on to be an Ordnance Officer. I served back to back tours in Germany from 1988-1993 including supporting the Persching Missle System and their deactivation per the IHF Treaty in 1991 and I was a Combat Equipment Commander (CEC) whose CEC issued equipment to the Big Red One during Reforger 92. I retired from service as the XO of the Harrisburg, PA Recruiting BN in August 1995.

I entered active duty on 3 January 1968 as a second lieutenant in the US Army Signal Corps. My first duty assignment was in the 6th Armored Cavlry Regiment on orders for Vietnam. The orders were changed when Dr. Martin Luther King was killed. Our unit was then charged with responsibility for maintaining civil authority in Washington, D.C. I served as Regimental Signal Officer until I received orders for Vietnam.I served in Vietnam for a year with the First Signal Brigade returning to the States on Christmas night of 1969. I subsequently served two years of active reserve and two years inactive reserve and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain in 1974.

Enlisted in December 1976. Retired Master Sergeant August 1997. Served 13 years in Security Police then retrained into Communications Systems Planning. Assignments included RAF Lakenheath, UK, F.E. Warren AFB, WY, Charleston AFB, S.C, Eielson AFB, AK and my final assignment was USSTRATCOM, Offut AFB, NE.
