Served 30 years both active and inactive. Served in all three rank structures, Staff Sergeant, Commissioned Officer as a Major, and Chief Warrant Officer II. Commanded the unit in Ottawa for 3 years, and served on Division and General Staffs. Served in Iraq from 2004 - 2005. Awards include Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart

Served over 22 years, first as a Signal Corps Officer then as a Personnel Officer. Spent almost 8 years in Germany. Served at Fort Bragg with the 82nd Airborne Division. I am a Master Parachutist! Last duty assignment was at Fort Hood as Personnel Officer for 1st CAV Division.

I was drafted soon after Graduation. Enlisted in the Navy. Stationed at San Diego on the ship USS Anchorage (LSD 36) . Went on two westPacs. 1973-off the coast of Viet Nam for Marine support. APRIL OF 1975 for the evacuation of Saigon. Honorably discharged as HT3 at Treasure Island.

Entered the USAF the day after graduation, May 28, 1971. Basic training and Tech School all at Lackland AFB, TX. Spent the next 22+ years in Nebraska, Thailand, Montana, Massachusetts, Texas and Philippines. Was a Security Policeman most of my career but also did a stint as a Recuiter.

ABOARD USS SHASTA AE-33. MADE TWO WEST-PAC DEPLOYMENTS TO THE SOUTH PACIFIC. HONORABLY DISCHARGED APRIL 28, 1984 @ CONCORD NAVAL WEAPONS STATION. I ENJOYED MY TIME IN THE NAVY AND ENJOYED THE MANY PLACES THAT I VISITED AND LIVED. I AM A LIFE MEMBER OF THE VFW ALSO.

Enlisted in September 1967. Attended Boot Camp at Fort Leonard Wood. Attended Huey HU1 and Loach OH-6A helicopter schools at Fort Eustis,Virginia. Promoted to Specialist E5, reassigned to Fort Bragg for deployment to Vietnam in 1969. Arrived at Camp Eagle, Vietnam in March 1969 as a member of the 101st Airborne. Transferred to LZ Sally in May. Flew as OH-6A Crewchief/Doorgunner with C Troop 2nd/17th Air CAV at Sally. Wounded on combat mission on July 25th and spent the next 17 months recovering in Army hospitals in Japan and Fitzsimons General Hospital in Denver. Received Purple Heart and Air Medal for Valor and retired from the Army in 1971.

Enlisted on 17th birthday. Left for boot camp in San Diego, CA, shortly after graduation. Served in Marine Corps Honor Guard for 2 years in Washington, D.C. Served with 3rd Bn, 2nd Marines in Camp Lejeune, NC. Deployed to Okinawa, Japan for 6 months. Participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Fought in the battle of An Nassiriyah. Served as a Drill Instructor at Parris Island, SC. Honorable Discharge, July, 2006.

Enlisted in 1974. Stationed in California, Phillipine Islands, North Carolina, Washington DC & Portland, Oregon. Travels took me to many places, including Scotland, England, Spain, Panama, Japan, Korea, Hawaii, Guam, Saipan, Wake Island, Cuba and the Aleutian Islands (Alaska). Also participated in Desert Shield in Saudia Arabia & Desert Storm in Kuwait. Final duty station was training reservists in Portland, OR. I retired in 1994 as a Gunnery Sergeant.

I served from 4 years out of high school, and returned to serve 2 1/2 years active duty reserves, married with 2 children. Upon hearing that I had a billet for deployment, I put in a package for active duty, and was given orders for active duty and sent to Norfolk/Virgina Beach, VIrgina. My family and I moved and we spent 2 years there. In June of 2007, my wife and children moved back to Ottawa, and I stayed to prepare the ship for a homeport change to Japan. In August 2008, I left the Navy to return to the civilian world. I had completed my tour and was ready to be back with my family.
