Very proud to say that my Platoon Sergeant (James Bondsteel ? ) ..a Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient... recommended and endorsed my attendance to Officer Candidate School (OCS)... I received my Commission and was assigned to one of the best Army Units on the Planet ...the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment ... in Germany responsible for patrolling the "then" East-West German Border... I resigned my Commission in 1981 to become the Athletic Director of the Military Installation in Fulda, Germany

Served as a Military Intelligence Officer in command and staff positions in armor, artillery and military intelligence battalions both in the continental US and in Europe. Highlights of duty overseas include S-2/Border Officer along the Czech-West German border in a divisional cavalry squadron. Serving as a Soviet ground maneuver expert and the command briefing team at Headquarters US Army Europe (USAREUR). Duty highlights within the continental US include S-2 in a Lance missile battalion at III Corps Artillery. Served as the G-2 Plans Officer for the First Cavalry Division.
