I served over 20 years in the Army, retiring in 2007. My primary occupation/skills in the military where all related to the telecommunications field. I served in Germany, Arizona, Belgium, Panama, and my last 10 years were spent in the Washington D.C. area. Highlights of my career include serving in multiple NATO assignments (SHAPE Headquarters in Belgium), being stationed during the final drawdown for the US from Panama, and my final 10 years serving in the White House Communications Agency for supporting the president, staff, USSS, and the National Security Council. I continue to work with the White House Military Office supporting various projects related to communications.

After Boot Camp, I served at; Electronics 'A' School, Treasure Island, CA;; Naval Amphibious Base, Coronado, CA; USS Hamner DD-718, San Diego, CA; Electronics 'B' School, Treasure Island, CA; VU-3 Det 'A', NAS North Island, CA (Drone Helicopters; USS Taussig DD-746, San Diego, CA; Service Schools Command, Treasure Islamd, CA (Instructer); USS Grand Canyon AD-28, Newport, RI; MOTU-1, Pearl Harbor, HI; COMINERON Five, NRF, Long Beach, CA. I retired in 1978 as a Chief Petty Officer, ETC.

After bootcamp, I started my military service at the Naval Hospital Corps School in Great Lakes, Illinois. After graduating, I spent two years stationed at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego where I worked in the ICU. At the end of 2004, I went through Field Hospital Corps School, which transitioning me from Navy standards to Marine Corps standards. There I also learned more in Combat medicine. After graduating, I was stationed with Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. I spent four years with the Marines. I deployed twice to Iraq. The first deployment, I spent 7 1/2 months in Hit and Haditha, Iraq. My second deployment, I deployed with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit. On the way to Iraq, we stopped in Guam, Singapore, & Kuwait. My unit spent 4 1/2 months in AO Anehiem Iraq. On the way back to the US, we stopped in Dubai, Australia, & Hawaii. My end of obligated service, my last day in the military, was April 1, 2008.

Robert started his military career in the aviation cadet program in 1958. He served as a Radar Navagator (Bombadier) in B-52's. Flew alert missions during the Cuban Missle Crisis and served 6 tours in Vietnam amassing 197 combat missions earning 9 combat air medals with valor devices and a Distinguised Flying Cross during that conflict as well as several other medals and citations for meritorious service. He retired at Panama City, Florida's Tyndall Air Force Base and lived there until he passed away in 2001. He is missed by his two sons Robert Jr. and Neil and wife of 39 years Janice, all of whom still live in the Panama City area.

I was in a 105 howitzer battalion !st infantry division fort riley kan.we traveled to Germany but the best was i was the ceo driver and he and i went to main post on pay day and got the money came back and payed every one.
