John D. Wardlow

Class of 1967

John D. Wardlow, a 1967 graduate of Central High School, served as a Marine Recon Scout iin the Republic Of Vietnam 1968 to 1970. IFollowing those two tours of duty in 1971 he was assigned to the Marine Guard Detachment at the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

While serving his country John D. Wardlow was awarded two Purple Hearts for wounds sustained in defense of the United States. He was subsequently discharged from the United States Marine Corps due to disabilities which resulted from those wounds.

John D. Wardlow's service in defense of his nation is in the highest traditions of the Unites States Marine Corps. His sacrifice is a reflection of the committment to Duty, Honor and Country taught to him as a Marine and as a student at Central High School.
