The Marion High School Class of 1974 is planning their 40th reunion for Old Settler’s Day on September 27, 2014. Class members are invited to ride on a class float for the parade and eat together in Central Park at noon. Class members and spouses are invited to spend the evening together in Marion. A Facebook group page has been created with the name of Marion (Kansas) HS Class of 1974. Former classmates are invited to join in the planning and additional details by joining that group or contacting Claire at clmered@aol.com or 918-332-6379.
The festivities will start early at Mike's house across from the high school. 124 So. Lincoln Rolls, coffee, juice or your own prefered beverage, will be available from 8-10. The trailer we'll ride will be parked there and ready to decorate!!! We're putting our most creative classmates in charge... volunteers?
Bring your own candy to throw if you wish to do so. We do have a class shirt being printed. the cost is $10. The trailer will head to the beginning of the parade route at 10:30. Parade Theme is "Marion County Heroes...Past and Present" and starts at 11:00
We will eat lunch in the park. We'll have a designated spot for the class of 74 in the park. Games begin at 1pm. Egg toss and other favorites. Class recognition is at 2:30. Gives us time to slip over to the museum and sign in. Class with the most coming in receives $25. for their reunion fund.
Our evening festivities will take us 5.5 miles south east of Marion to the O'Dell (Scotland) place, 2477 180th. We will have nice meal catered by Riley Reid of Florence. Cost is $15. Happy Hour will be announced later. Please bring your own beverage and favorite snack.
A table will be set up for pictures past and present. Claire will put together a slide show for us. Send them to her at 13512 E Boxthorn, Wichita 67228 or message her and scan them to her. MHS Class of 2001 10 year reunion Wow, can you believe it’s been 10 years. Our class reunion has been planned for the weekend of Old Settler’s Day which is September 24, 2011. We would love to have everyone present at our reunion. Here is an itinerary for the weekend. Saturday, September 24, 2011: 11:00 am – Old Settler’s Day Parade (Main Street Marion) – Gather no later than 10:30 am @ TBD (Optional) Immediately following parade: Your own time to enjoy food, entertainment, and games in Central Park. You can also tour the High School. 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm – Social Hour at the Pilsen Community Center, Pilsen, KS. Your spouse and children are welcome to attend. Casual attire & BYOB 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm – Dinner at the Pilsen Community Center, Pilsen, KS. 9:30 pm – whenever – After Party (Adults Only) at Joel Thomas’ House Deadline for reservations is September 11, 2011, but we would love to hear from you by August 1st. The cost for the Dinner will be $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children over the age of 3. **Make checks payable to MHS Class of 2001.
