Lieutenant Junior Grade Maguire is a native of Logan, Iowa. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from
University of Phoenix – Hawaii Campus and a Master of Business Administration from Hawaii Pacific University.

His naval career began when he enlisted as an undesignated seaman In the inactive Navy Reserve in November 1986. August 1987 he
reported for active duty boot camp. In December 1987 he was selected for MS “A” School and then in March 1988 volunteered for Basic Enlisted Submarine School. In June 1988, LTJG Maguire
Reported to the USS U. S. GRANT SSBN 631 blue crew home ported in Groton, CT. Onboard he served in various positions of increasing responsibility such as the Galley Watch Captain, Ships Baker, Culinary Training Petty Officer and Food Service Records Keeper. In between strategic deterrent patrols, LTGJ Maguire
attended Johnson and Wales Culinary Arts School in Providence, RI. At the end of his sea tour LTJG Maguire was the Leading MS as a Second Class Petty Officer. In June 1992, LTJG Maguire was handpicked to serve as a chef, at the Pentagon at the Office of the Secretary of Defense. LTJG Maguire attended Northern Virginia Community College while serving at the Pentagon. In July 1995, LTJG Maguire returned to sea duty on the USS SANTA FE SSN 763 home ported out of Pearl Harbor, HI.

To pursue higher education, in June 1997 LTJG Maguire chose to leave the active duty Navy and affiliate with the Navy Reserve. From June 1997 to July 1998 LTJG Maguire served as the Acting Supply Officer and Logistics Specialist for NR Mobile Diving Salvage Unit One Det 620. In July 1989, LTJG Maguire reported to NR USPACOM Det 120 where he served in the Logistics, Engineering and Security Assistance (J4) Directorate, as a Supply/Logistics Specialist on active duty orders and as the Command (Unit) Chief and Senior Enlisted Advisor for the reserve unit. LTJG Maguire was advanced to Chief Petty Officer in September 2003. He received his Supply Corps commission in December 2007. LTJG Maguire was assigned to the NR Fleet Industrial Supply Center Pearl Harbor as the OIC while enrolled in the Supply Corp School Basic Qualification Course from December 2007 to September 2009. LTJG Maguire current Navy Reserve assignment is with the NR Defense Contract Management Agency as a DAWIA Level I certified Contracting Officer.

LTJG Maguire’s personal awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), Office of the Secretary of Defense Service Badge and various other unit and service awards. He is a qualified in enlisted Submarine Warfare.

LTJG Maguire civilian full time employment is with the United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service, as a Contract and Grant Specialist. He is a member of the Hawaii Supply Corp Association, Fleet Reserve Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. He volunteers his time for community service through his church by teaching Sunday School.

LTJG Maguire is married to the former Tsui Wah A. Cheng of Hong Kong and they reside on the island of Oahu. They have two children Gracelynn and Aaron.
