My first and favorite ship was The Belleau Wood LHA-3 stationed at first in San Diego then we moved 3 months or so later to Good old Sasebo Japan (I miss my Marine buddies and loved Japan "Go-Fukuoka"!). My second Ship was a "nuke" The Mississppi CGN-40 (in Virginia's NOB in Norfolk)

Was part of HMM-365 when it received a Meritorious Unit Citation for earthquake relief operations in Peru in 1970.
