Sgt Derek Carpenter is a airframe mechanic and airial observer on the v-22, osprey. He has served in Iraq and aboard the ship USS Iwo Jima. His current unit is VMM-266. He is stationed at MCAS New River in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Sgt Carpenter just reenlisted for his second term on November 23rd.

Devens, MA., and Ft. Wainwright, AK. Married to a soldier who is now retired after 21 years and works as a professional skydiver and in the film industry in Nashville, TN.
