After schooling I was aboard the USS Midway CVA-41 and the USS Shangri-la CVA-38.Had two far-east cruises, went around the horn of South America to the East coast, through the Artic Circle to Europe, and back to Florida. I was discharged from there.

The remainder was spent in the Army Reserve. During my enlisted period I went to Germany after finishing Basic at Ft. Benning, GA. While in Germany I took advantage of time off by visiting other European countries, such as France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, and Holland. My time in Germany was enjoyable, I served with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment or better known as the Blackhorse Regiment. I finished my enlistment at Ft. Carson, CO and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. I then attended college at Kearney State College and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the spring of 1986. I served with the Nebraska National Guard as a 2nd Lieutenant while I finished m
