The planning committee has now reached a critical point in planning our 50th High School Reunion, and that is: it’s now time for you to do your part to ensure that we will have a successful 3-day celebration. Each page in this document is designed to give you important information regarding the celebration plans and to help you make immediate decisions about your participation. The Committee took several factors into consideration before making final decisions in reference to the chosen facilities, such as safety, parking, atmosphere, our history, and timing. As our previous letter to you stated, the celebration will take place on July 15, 16, and 17, 2011. The events are listed below: Friday, July 15, 5 to 8 p.m.: A “Meet and Greet” party will be held at Zea’s Restaurant, 1525 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans LA . This will be our first opportunity to reacquaint with our classmates. Attire is casual. Free parking is available behind the restaurant. Buffet food service will start at 5: 30 p.m. The restaurant is also on the St. Charles Ave. street car line. Door prizes will be given. Saturday, July 16, 7 to 11 p.m.: A group picture of classmates will be taken in front of Clark at 11 a.m., and a Banquet will be held at the Hilton Riverside Hotel, Poydras at The Mississippi, New Orleans LA, from 7 to 11 p.m. Attire is After Six. Self-parking is available on the property for $10 per car. A discount voucher will be stapled to your parking ticket in the banquet hall. The buffet dinner will start promptly at 7:30 p.m. A program is planned, and you are encouraged to invite your family and friends to attend this part of the celebration. Sunday, July 17: A 9 to 10:30 a.m. Church service will be at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1923 St. Phillip St., New Orleans LA, located in Joseph S. Clark’s geographic area. AND Sunday, July 17, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: A Buffet brunch will be held at historical Dooky Chase Restaurant , 2301 Orleans Ave., New Orleans LA. A closing event is planned. To enhance our celebration, we are selling ads that will be included in our souvenir booklet. Ads can come from local businesses or family members congratulating you on your 50th High School Reunion. Also, if a classmate has a business, an ad can be placed at half price, except the covers.
