Trained as an Army Air corps aviator, comissioned a 2nd lieutenannt. Served as a bombardier on a B-29 until World War2 ended. Joined the reserve and transferred to the U.S. Air Force Reserve in 1947. Retired as a Lt.Colonel in 1971.
