40 YEARS, ALREADY?!? YES! Class of l968, It’s time for our 40th Reunion. Jacksboro High School—You remember! We could never forget our oldest friends and classmates. We want to see you there on Homecoming Weekend (Oct. 17, 18) for lots of fun and catching up. Some of the locals (your classmates who never left town) have been planning a fun time. We’re trying to reach everyone who was ever in our class – elementary through high school - teachers and principals included, so help us out if you have addresses of those who moved away. Be watching the local newspaper and your e-mail for updates. Here’s the scoop so far: Maybe we’ll have a float in the Homecoming Parade on Friday. Got any ideas? Would you be in it? We could sit as a group at the pep rally. Call your friends and you can eat lunch together before the parade and tour the old high school one last time. You did know we’re building a new one, didn’t you? We’ll meet and eat together at the Junior Class Supper (tickets available at the door) before the game. Want to help decorate? Game-time!! We’ll be playing a team we’re sure to beat. No, I don’t know who, but somebody does. Anyway, we can leave at half time, after the band plays, of course, and meet at the country club for refreshments and reminiscing. The bar will be open and locals will bring food. Maybe there’ll even be some ‘60’s music, if anybody brings any. Next day there will be more fun at the Golf Course (Remember Senior Trip?) This time, it’ll be daylight and we’ll have a scramble or you can sit inside and visit with the others who are too arthritic to play. Tee time is 8:00 a.m. and the cost is $30.00 each for green fees. Then, we’ll have a catered lunch served by Chris Malloy at noon. The cost? A mere $35.00 per classmate (which pays for your guest) plus $10.00 for anyone else you’d like to bring (if they don’t mind hearing stories about how beautiful/handsome you used to be). This will pay for the meal, building rental, postage, etc. Feel free to donate more and we’ll have a bigger party or give a scholarship, donate something to the school, or save up for our 50th. Also, please send your e-mail address so we can send updates. E-mail us five pictures of your life since graduation and we’ll make a CD to be played during the visiting and one will be available for purchase for the cost of supplies. Contact us!! We answer phones and do e-mail! Better yet, come see us and help plan this thing!! Yes, YOU!!! We need YOU!!! We’ll e-mail everyone about the next planning meeting so you can get in on the fun like Billie, Mike, Debbie, Rod, and Terry. We’ve had a “blast”! Send money (and number of people coming) quick to Billie Clay at Jacksboro National Bank, PO Box A, Jacksboro, Texas 76458 so we can get a head count for the caterer ASAP. Need more info? Call or e-mail Melvin, (940) 284 9934, mclay@hughes.net, Jan, (940) 507-1233, janmcanear@hotmail.com or Melinda, (940) 567-6218, melindaperkins@ymail.com We can’t wait to see you. You’ll have more laughs and hugs than you can count. It’ll be groovy!
