For those of us who completed undergraduate programs in May/June '68, our local (Bayshore) Draft Board helped guarantee that postgraduate educations and careers would be delayed by Vietnam era service. I competed Navy OCS in Newport in 1969, was commissioned, and NEVER suspected that I would spend the next two decades absolutely satisfied with the opportunities for service, leadership, and management the Navy provided. This eventually resulted in an additional twenty-year career with Lockheed Martin, as their Director of Navy Tactical and Maritime Aviation Programs.
