Lloyd L. Smrkovski
Class of 1959
Navy, 20+ Years
Served as an enlisted airman in the United States Air Force Security Service from 1959 - 1963 as a "Russian Communications Intercept Operato". Served two yrs in Japan, took part in the Cuban Missile Crisis in Oct. of 1962. Last assignment as an Instructor at the Air Force Intelligence Academy at Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, TX.
1976 - 1993 served as a Naval Officer conducting tropical medicine research and medical intelligence gathering. Served in the Philippines, Indonesia, Panama, Turkey and other oversea sites. Stateside duty stations were at the Naval Medical Research Institute, Bethesda, MD and the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, Washington, D.C. Retired as a Navy Commander in 1993 and now resides in NH from where he now takes part in international big/dangerous game hunts, such as in Africa, the Arctic Circle and elsewhere.

Served in "Fire fighting and Aircraft Crash Rescue". Spent one year at a remote site, King Salmon, Alaska and nearly 3 years at K.I. Sawyer AFB, near Marquette, Michigan. Post military service was that of a State Trooper for the Michigan Department of State Police. Now retired in Michigan.
