Army, 8 Years

My first duty station after Officer Basic Course was Schweinfurt, West Germany. I stayed there for five years and was promoted up to the rank of captain during that time. The next three years were spent stateside, going through different schools. Most of my time in Germany was spent along the Berlin Wall (which no longer exists - thank god!!!) I enjoyed the service a great deal and continue to this day to participate in the local honor guard for veteran funerals.

I served most of my military time as an officer over in Germany during the cold war. At that time the Berlin Wall was still a factor and serving right along the wall was an uncomfortable experience. I loved my military time, however!!!

Our Gilbert High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Gilbert High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated. All of us in Gilbert are proud of our military alumni and want to thank them for risking their lives to protect our country!
