Joined the Army in 1982, was in the 307th Engr Bn (82nd ABN DIV) Ft Bragg, NC, 20th Engr Bde (18th ABN CORP) Ft Bragg, NC, and 249th Engr Bn, (18th Engr Bde) Karlsruhe Germany. Transfered to US Army Reserve May 1989, served with the various units, was activated from Jan 2003 til Jan 2006, mission training units deploying to Afghanistan and Iraq, in Jan 2007 retired from the military with 25+ years of service.

I graduated from West Point in 1985 and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant, I served for 8 years and attained the rank of Captain before resigning in 1993. I was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor in action in Desert Storm while acting as the Combat Trains Commander for the 4th of the 34th Armored Task Force.

Spent four.years as a medic.(just long enough to finish my under grad degree and power through a.grad program in 14 months (I didn't eat.or sleep the e.tire time)'Cross trained.to be a Joint Tactical Air Controller - got Got.General Officer endorsement on my OTS application.because of my affinity with the proper application of high explosives :)'yeah baby!! Went on to be a.Ground.Launched.Cruise.Missile.Launch.Officer in Belgium and then in Sicily. Went to the Air Force Institute of Technology for a Masters in Logistics Management.... it's a three year world class degree collapsed into 14 months. With a thesis too... not so much fun... it then I wound up at the Air Force.Space and Missle Systems Center and became a.rocket scientist - now that's fun! BUT, ALL things have to come to an end and it was much easier finding a.job and starting over at 40 than at 53+

Our Franklin Regional High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Franklin Regional High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated.
