Class of 1969
Navy, 6 Years
I was the first enlisted women to go through and complete fire fighting training; I was also one of the first women to be assigned to an Attack Squadron (VA-127). Served 6 years; I was honorably discharged as an E5.

Gary Ernest
Class of 1989
Marine Corps, 4 Years
Served active duty from May 1991 to March 1995. After completed boot camp at Parris Island Sc, I attended MOS school at NAB Little Creek, VA. Upon completion of MOS school, I was was given orders to report to Iwakuni Japan - located 45 minutes south of Hiroshima - where I spent my entire enlistment.

Air Force, 20+ Years
Spent 20 years and 3 months in the Air Force. I've been stationed in Nevada, Texas and Pennsylvania in the states. I also spent 4 years in Europe. I've been on deployments near Iraq. I spent 12 years in the logistics arena. I also spent 4 years in Texas as an Techincal Training Instructor. I am proud to have served my country!!!

Air Force, 5 Years
Joined the USAF the day after graduation along with 7 other Ferndale Graduates I was stationed at MacDill AFB, Tampa Fl and served 4 months in Viet Nam.

Naval officer in WW II. I have the American flag given to his wife when he passed away. She has also died, and they had no children. I would like to donate the flag to Ferndale HS. He was an football star there in the 1920s and spoke fondly of the school. If anybody can assist me in doing this, contact me at wolfnus@aol.com
